Little Things To Inspire You This Week
The Sunday Roundup #12: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thanksgiving is over but today’s theme is still gratitude! Thank you so much for reading Little Things. Thank you to those who pay to support me. Thank you for commenting and engaging, for liking posts, and sharing them. I have so much genuine appreciation for every single one of you.
This week my friend Gill (and subscriber/retreat attendee extraordinaire!) called this newsletter a “literary hug” and oh wow, it made me so happy! I’m extending a literary hug to you all right now. Emily The Criminal. It’s great. Aubrey Plaza plays a woman who gets caught up in illegal shopping scheme to pay off her student debt. She’s simply so good in it! She’s running on adrenaline and it’s thrilling to watch. A solid story and very compelling themes too.
Spirited (Apple TV+). What can I say, I’m a sucker for musicals and an even bigger sucker for the holidays. It’s a super fun Christmas movie with a fantastic cast. And hey, it officially ‘tis the season. Welcome.

This book is LAUGH-OUT-LOUD funny, even when exploring darker issues. It’s the type of memoir you don’t want to put down, but never want to end.
My genius friend Rachel Kaplan (who’s also a subscriber, hi Rachel!) wrote this absolutely hilarious, so-real-it’s-hurts Shouts & Murmurs in The New Yorker: The Model Is Wearing A Size Small. Another must read!
If you’ve ever known anybody with dementia, this is a beautiful article in The New Yorker about a French village with a radical vision of reshaping life with Alzheimers. We desperately need more facilities for peaceful, humane treatment rather than only focusing on eradication.

This Forbes article is titled How To Follow Your Gut And Stop Projecting The Future, so I didn’t expect it to be helpful at all. That’s not something you can teach in 500 words. But joke’s on me, it’s actually pretty good.
And lastly, here are five stretches that are worth doing when you wake up, before your day gets really hectic, via Self, BECAUSE…
